Experience the thrill of bringing the spooky spirit to life while working alongside community members and fellow enthusiasts. You do not have to be a member of the Stanwood/Camano area, we welcome people from all over western Washington. Whether you're helping with decorations, acting as a haunted character, or helping visitors on our open nights, your contribution will make a difference and foster a sense of community. Volunteer Positions

Set Builder & Decorator

  • Assist with designing and constructing haunted house sets.

  • Paint, assemble props, and add decorative elements to enhance the experience.

  • Ensure sets are safe and functional.

 
House Manager(s)

  • Develop and distribute schedules for performances, breaks, and role assignments.

  • Ensure performances run on time and actors are in position.

  • Communicate with actors, tech crew, and security using radios or other communication tools.

  • Monitor safety and address any hazards or technical issues.

  • Manage crowd flow and coordinate scene transitions or resets.

  • Act as the point of contact for any emergency situations.

 
Scare Actor

  • Perform as a costumed character in designated scare zones or haunted house rooms.

  • Engage with guests through safe and approved scare tactics.

  • Maintain character and energy throughout the shift.

 
Guest Services & Ticketing

  • Greet and assist guests with ticket purchases and check-ins.

  • Provide information about the haunted house and safety guidelines.

  • Manage lines and crowd control.

Makeup Artist & Costume Assistant

  • Apply special effects makeup and assist with costume preparation.

  • Ensure costumes and makeup align with the haunted house theme.

  • Help maintain and organize wardrobe and props.

 
Security & Safety Monitors

  • Ensure guest and volunteer safety throughout the haunted house.

  • Monitor for any unsafe behavior or emergencies.

  • Assist in guiding guests through emergency exits if needed.

 
Tour Guide & Storyteller

  • Lead groups through themed attractions with engaging narration.

  • Set the tone and immerse guests in the haunted house experience.

  • Answer questions and ensure guests follow the rules.

 
Photographer & Social Media Assistant

  • Capture event highlights, guest reactions, and behind-the-scenes moments.

  • Create and manage social media posts to promote the haunted house.

  • Ensure content aligns with the organization’s branding and guidelines.
